This isn't a bad idea, so I just quickly tried it out. If I decide to add color it'd all have to be the same color in different shades, maybe. Different colors kills the uniformity. The shapes are so simple color isn't necessary to define them at all, I actually kind of like the simple black and white.

haha well i really suck at painting but i try. mostly my good stuff is just stickers tho.
